Sticks And Stones album details….

Sticks And Stones debut album, to be titled ‘Into The Wild’ will be released on Distilled Records on 4th October 2014 on both CD and Download formats…  The band have made a series of promotion films as we lead up to the release date…  the first of these short films entitled ‘Mountains’ is posted below….


Mano McLaughlin new track…

A couple of weeks ago we received quite a few new demo recordings from Mano McLaughlin.  One of the stand out track for us was, The Morning After The Longest Day a beautiful song we think you’ll agree…  the track was recorded in Mano’s living room and only intended as a demo for us…  we couldn’t resist sharing it with you…


Into The Summer 2014…

Another busy weekend ahead for Distilled Records…  Friday night Mano McLaughlin plays in Manchester as special guest to Sirens in The Delta, at The Shangri La! North Manchester.  Also on Friday night, fresh from their last exam the same day, Sticks And Stones return to the live scene with a headline slot on the first night of the Kirkcudbright Song Festival, tickets available HERE.  Sunday will see Sticks And Stones play the fantastic Knockengorroch World Ceilidh, tickets available HERE


Spider Mike King Session & Interview

Spider Mike King recorded a special live session for award winning radio show Roots & Fusion (every Wednesday on Pure 107.8FM from 21:00).  Spider Mike is in blistering form and is also interviewed after the session and talks about his early days in bands with Martin Hannett (Joy Division), Paul Burgess (10cc) and Nico (Velvet Underground) it really is great stuff… big thanks to Richard at Roots & Fusion for a great session and fascinating interview…



New LIVE Dates…

Ahead of the release of their debut LP later this year, Sticks And Stones have started to fill their calendar with live dates, with many more promised… more details HERE.

Martin Hannett The Redemption

Spider Mike King will be taking part in a very special event in Manchester on April 10th – Martin Hannett The Redemption is an evening dedicated to the life and work of the man credited as creating ‘The Manchester Sound‘ – the evening will act as a book and film launch with an exhibition of Martin Hannett artifacts and memorabilia.

Those confirmed to attend so far include Bob Dickinson – Bruce Mitchell (Durruti Column) – CP Lee (Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias) – Dave Formula (Magazine) –

Martin Hannett worked with hundreds of bands and musicians over the years, including, Joy Division, Happy Mondays, Buzzcocks, John Cooper Clarke, The Stone Roses and many more…. Martin Hannett The Redemption takes place at Gorilla on Whitworth Street, in Manchester on April 10 – tickets are only £6 and available HERE.
